new website for local mechanic

Smart Car Specialists are a Guildford based garage providing services, repairs and modifications to all sorts of Smart Cars. Their existing website needed updating to be compatible with the currently supported PHP standards and also had a number of other issues including the responsive design not working, broken links and SSL protocols. As there were quite a number of issues, we decided that a new website was a better option than updating the existing one.

New website design

Smart Car Specialists were happy with the general design of the existing site so we tried to work with what they had and update it to a more current style. We used the existing site content and logo to create the new site and will be adding additional content over time. As the previous site was built using WordPress CMS, there was no need to lose the existing content or page structure in order to update the look and feel of the site. We created a duplicate website on our own servers and removed vulnerable plugins and insecure content as well as updating the look and feel and improving the responsive elements of the site.

Keeping the things that work

Whilst there were a number of things that needed improving, there were also some parts of the site that were functioning exactly as they should: one of these is in importing information from the Google Sheets used by the business. This means that they can keep crucial pricing details up to date without duplicating workload.

Ongoing website management

Now that the website is up to date and functioning as it should, we are working together on a monthly basis to keep on top of weekly SEO audits and to make amends as required.

“We cannot recommend Business Arch highly enough. We have only recently been using them for updating our website and the upkeep and maintenance of it and could not be more pleased with what has been done. Very efficient and great communication keeping us informed of everything. Would recommend to anyone.”
